Detzem

Detzem on the Mosel is a municipality in the Trier -Saar castle in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Schweich on the Roman wine road.

To Detzem includes the living space "House Arenz ".

Name

The name comes from the Latin decem ( " ten " ) because Detzem is ten Celtic marker from (miles, 22 km ) downriver from Trier (ad Decimum lapidem = the tenth milestone ), on the Roman highway Trier - Neumagen - Bingen - Mainz ( see also fifth).

History

King Arnulf gave the Abbey of St. Maximin in Trier 893 the Frankish royal estate Detzem.

In the land register of the abbey of St. Maximin in 1200 the church, the manor house are listed with 20 hooves and seven smaller farmsteads for Detzem.

Later Detzem belonged to the Official St. Maximin and counted after the Trier Fire Book 1563 29 hearths in 1684 and 27 fireplaces.

Attractions
