Deutsche Dermatologische Gesellschaft

The German Dermatological Society ( DDG ) is a scientific society of Dermatology in Germany. She is a member of the Association of the Scientific Medical Societies in Germany ( AWMF ).

The objective is to promote scientific and professional concerns of Dermatology, Venereology and Allergology, as well as the specialist areas of dermatology, andrology, Phlebology and Lymphology, proctology, surgical dermatology and dermato-oncology, dermatological radiation therapy, dermatological microbiology, occupational and environmental dermatology, and preventive dermatology and rehabilitation. The DDG advises German and international governments, agencies, public and non-public organizations, medical and scientific societies, institutes, hospitals and individuals in scientific and technical matters. The DDG has almost 3,600 ordinary and extraordinary members.

The club was founded in 1889 in Prague. The company is based in Berlin, where a joint office with the Professional Association of German Dermatologists ( BVDD ) is operated. DDG and BVDD founded 1998, the German Dermatological Academy (DDA ), the training and is committed to continuing education for dermatologists in the area.

Cooperations

The DDG is expressly understood as association of German dermatologists and works closely with the dermatological societies societies from Austria ( ÖGDV ) and Switzerland ( SGDV ) together. The DDG is a member of the International League of Dermatology Societies ( ILDS ), the international umbrella organization of scientific societies in the field of dermatology. It has representatives in the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology ( EADV ), the European Dermatology Forum (EDF ), the European Society Dermatological Research ( ESDR ) and the Union of European Specialists ( UEMS ).

Publications and Working

The official publication of the DDG is the journal journal of the German Dermatological Society ( ISSN 1610-0387 ). There are awarded several scientific prizes and awards and research grants.

The Company held on 70th death anniversary of the Frankfurt dermatologist Karl Herxheimer, on December 6, 2012 in Frankfurt am Main a first Karl Herxheimer Memorial Lecture and sat on the same day in the Jewish cemetery of the city a stone commemorating the 1942 Terezin concentration camp dead.
