Deutsche Schachzeitung
The German chess magazine was a 1846-1988 monthly in Berlin ( in the meantime Leipzig) published German -language chess magazine.
For the first time it appeared in 1846 under the official publication of the Berlin Chess Club, at that time still under the name of chess newspaper. First editor was Louis Bledow.
In 1872 she received the name German chess magazine and has been published continuously until September 1944. In October 1950 she appeared for the first time. It was published since that date to 1988 Rudolf Teschner. A reprint of the years 1846-1944 in 29 volumes published from 1985 by Edition Olms, Zurich.
With the January issue 1989, the German chess magazine was integrated among other things, for financial reasons in the newspaper Chess Report and heard in fact to exist. The Chess Report for its part, went public in 1996 in the journal on Chess.
