Deutscher Fotobuchpreis

The German Photo Book Prize is a competition in which a jury of the best photo books of Germany will be chosen. The competition was launched in 2003 and takes place every year since then.

Is organized by the National Association of Baden- Württemberg eV of the Association of German Book Trade. Awards will be special performances by writers, photographers and editors in the photobook area. In addition to publishing houses also photographers and designers can participate directly. Participation is open to photo books from publishers from German-speaking who have a minimum print run of 500 copies, were first published in a specified period of time and have never seen the " German Photo Book Prize " competition. Participating books must be available and commercially available.

The jury consists of about ten members, consisting of photographers, booksellers, museum staff and other people from the book and picture industry. Every year the winners title and a selection of the nominated books will be exhibited at various venues.
