DGRV - German Cooperative and Raiffeisen Confederation (DGRV ) is the umbrella organization of the German co-operative organization.

The association founded in 1972, is headquartered in Berlin at the Pariser Platz. In addition, various departments located in Bonn, Adenauer Allee ( next to the Raiffeisenhaus ). DGRV emerged from the merger of the two former co-operative associations German Raiffeisen Association eV (old) and German Cooperative Association ( Schulze- Delitzsch) eV. Since then, the DGRV is responsible for all cross-cutting issues of the cooperative group.

Tasks

DGRV represents the common interests of the cooperative organization in economic, legal and tax affairs to the public, the media and politics.

Together with European and international organizations, such as the CCACE ( Coordinating Committee of European Associations) in Brussels, the International Co-operative Alliance (ICA International Co-operative Alliance) in Geneva and the European Association of Cooperative Banks EACB ( European Association of Co-operative Banks) in Brussels, the DGRV represents the interests of German cooperatives at European and global level.

In addition, the DGRV member of the International Raiffeisen Union IRU, which is a platform for the exchange of experience between the international cooperative organizations. In addition, the DGRV advises its cooperative members in matters of business, accounting and cooperative examination system.

Furthermore, the DGRV can be used as top auditing association of the cooperative group carry out all of the cooperative regional and national centers, specialty institutes and organizations.

On top of that promotes the DGRV the emergence of cooperative societies at home and abroad. Especially in third world countries, but also in Central and Eastern Europe, economic development is thereby promoted.

However, the DGRV is also working for the creation of new cooperatives in Germany. In recent years, companies have been established in the legal form of a registered cooperative in diverse industries.

Structure

When DGRV all credit lines are organized up to the housing cooperatives. These include the credit cooperatives, rural and industrial cooperatives and consumer cooperatives.

Consequently, the federal associations of these divisions are members of the DGRV, in particular, these are

  • Federal Association of German Cooperative Banks ( BVR)
  • German Raiffeisen Association (DRV )
  • Central Association of Industrial Link Groups ( ZGV )
  • Central Association of German Consumer Cooperatives ( ZDK )

Furthermore, the DGRV is supported by the regional cooperative and professional auditing associations, and cooperative credit institutions and the central enterprises. In contrast, the primary cooperatives, so the cooperatives at the first stage of the cooperative grouping, not a direct member of the DGRV.

Under the umbrella of DGRV ( indirectly ) about 5,500 cooperative enterprises and 16.6 million members are organized. In the cooperative organization of about 700,000 people and 35,000 trainees work. The cooperative network is thus an important economic factor of the German economy and by far the largest membership of economic organization in Germany. The German Cooperative and Raiffeisen Confederation is a member of the European Movement.
