Deutschland Cup

The Germany Cup is held annually in November in Germany Hockey tournament in which the national teams from different countries participate. The competition is organized by the German Ice Hockey Federation since 1987. Since 2009, the Germany - Cup will be played with four teams in the Olympiahalle Munich.

History

The early years (1987-1997)

In 1987, the German Ice Hockey Federation Cup to Germany as an official Nations tournament to life. The revival (since 2000)

In the years 2012 and 2013 the Germany Cup will be held for refurbishment at the Olympic Ice Sport Centre and will return to the Olympic Hall after its completion in 2014 again.

Among the regular participants at the beginning of the 21st century, especially Slovakia, Canada and the national team of the United States, the latter two were next to the hosts Germany and Switzerland, however, mainly with players from the European leagues and not the North American National Hockey League.
