Since the season 2010/ 11, the Canadian is the second goalkeeper behind Nikolai Chabibulin with the Edmonton Oilers. From the season 2011/12 Dubnyk and Chabibulin shared the use of time, as both could not convince - but this is also due to the weak defense against the Oilers. The 2013/14 season starts Dubnyk again as number 1 in front of Jason LaBarbera. Since both goalkeepers showed rather poor performance, the Oilers committed in November FreeAgent Ilya Brysgalow. Brysgalow Dubnyk sparked off as a starter.

In January 2014 Devan Dubnyk was traded for Matt Hendricks to the Nashville Predators. Making its debut on January 18, 2014 against the Colorado Avalanche Dubnyk kassierete five goals on 29 shots and was put on the Waiverliste after two operations. After being selected by any of the 30 NHL teams, he became a farm team of the Predators, the Milwaukee Admirals, sent to the American Hockey League. He did not, however, be used, as it was transferred on March 5, 2014 the Canadiens de Montréal.
