Devarim (parsha)

Devarim (Hebrew "words" ) refers to a reading section of the Torah with the text of Deuteronomy / Devarim 1.1 to 3.22.

This is the reading of the 1st or 2nd Sabbath in the month of Av.

Gist

This is the first part of the week of the fifth book of the Torah: Devarim. The text tells how Moses in a farewell speech over forty years since the exodus from Egypt looking back, from departure at Horeb and the appointment of judges to the conquest of the Transjordan.
