Development Regions of Nepal

The fourteen zones of Nepal are developmental reasons to five development regions ( Nepali: विकास क्षेत्र - Bikas Kshetra ) summarized. This division was responsible for the administration so far of minor importance.

The five development regions are:

  • Development Eastern Region ( पुर्वाञ्चल विकास क्षेत्र - developing region of the eastern zones)
  • Development Region ( मध्यमाञ्चल विकास क्षेत्र - developing region of the middle zones)
  • Development Region West ( पश्चिमाञ्चल विकास क्षेत्र - developing region of the Western zones)
  • Developing region of Central West ( मध्य पश्चिमाञ्चल विकास क्षेत्र - developing region of Central Western Zones )
  • Development region remote West ( सुदुर पश्चिमाञ्चल विकास क्षेत्र - developing region of the Far Western Zones )

The directional terms are selected from Kathmandu, which lies in the development Region.
