Devon Petersen

Devon Petersen ( born June 4, 1986 in Cape Town ) is a South African darts player, who is currently in the PDC under contract.

Career

Petersen won the South African Open 2010 against Les Francis, after he lost to the same player in 2009. This victory entitled him to participate in the PDC World Championship 2011. During the preliminary round of the world championship he won against Norman Madhoo 4-3 Legs and thus qualified for the first round, where he met Jamie Caven. Although he won the first set for himself, he still lost with 1:3.

In 2011, he received permission to start Pro Tour in the PDC. After Petersen had decided to become a professional darts, he moved to Brighouse, England and signed a sponsorship deal with Unicorn Darts.

In 2011, Petersen was again won the South African Open, which meant qualification for the World Cup 2012. He had to start again in the first round and defeated José Oliveira de Sousa 4-3 Legs. In the first round he met Steve Brown, he still was able to defeat 3-2 despite 0-2 record behind. In the second round, however, he lost to the Scot Gary Anderson with 2:4.

Along with Shawn Hogan, he represented South Africa at the PDC World Cup of Darts 2012 in Hamburg. Together they defeated Spain 5-2 in the first round and then won against the set of space 4 Scots in a sudden-death leg. In the quarterfinals, she then documents the team from Wales with 1:3, where Petersen is too early was delighted when he landed double 16, but had previously miscounted and Richie Burnett shortly after the game decided in favor of the Welsh.

Due to an arm injury he had to take a break and took part in a tournament of the season in 2013.

Peterson gained by his dance that he performs in front of many games, much loved by many darts fans.
