Dharwad district

The district Dharwad ( Kannada: ಧಾರವಾಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ; earlier Dharwar ) is a district of the Indian state of Karnataka. Council is based in the eponymous Dharwad, which forms the twin city Hubli -Dharwad along with the neighboring Hubli.

Geography

The district is located in northern Karnataka Dharwad. Neighboring districts are Gadag in the east, Haveri in the south, Uttara Kannada in the west and Belgaum in the north.

History
