DHL Global Forwarding
Danzas was founded in the early 19th century freight forwarding company. The Swiss company with headquarters in Basel and French roots was acquired by Deutsche Post in 1999. This led Danzas to 2006 as a brand on, before they came up completely in the new DHL.
History
After the battle of Waterloo in 1815, the former French officer Marie Mathias Nicolas Louis Danzas came (originally d' Anza ) in the company of Michel L' Eveque minor in the Alsatian Bourg Libre near Basle, which was active in the field of customs services.
The company was soon active in the freight forwarding industry and as an agency for maritime companies. After the Franco-German War Danzas moved its headquarters to Switzerland and became known worldwide as the Swiss logistics company. 1878 turned into Danzas. & Cie., January 1, 1903 in a joint stock company has to offer. Since then, many new branches were made in France, Italy and Germany.
In Germany Danzas was present with a severance and Reexpeditionsstelle in Ludwigshafen since 1901. Danzas GmbH was founded in 1919 with headquarters in allied occupied Mainz. This was only a year later moved to Mannheim, and in 1949 to Frankfurt am Main. 1965 there were 30 branches and agencies in Germany.
1999 acquired the German Post AG, the majority of shares in the listed company Danzas Holding. It was taken over in the consolidated German Post AG, under the brand German Post World Net.
In the course of a re - branding the three brands DHL, German Post Euro Express and Danzas were combined into one occurring worldwide DHL brand. The Danzas brand was primarily used by January 2006 or from the air and sea freight division of the Group in the combination DHL Danzas Air & Ocean, which was eventually renamed the DHL Global Forwarding.
The historic mark was used after renaming Danzas Air & Ocean only by a few specialized units of the Post Group: Danzas Messen GmbH and Danzas Lebensmittelverkehre GmbH. Meanwhile, these units are converted to DHL Trade Fairs & Events ( TFE) and DHL Food Services.
