Luo (self- designation: Dholuo [ d̪ólúô ] ) is the language of the people of the Luo around Lake Victoria in Kenya and Tanzania, consisting of about 4 million people.

The East African writer Grace Ogot writes novels and short stories in their native language and in English Luo.
