Diallo Telli

Boubacar Diallo Telli (* 1925 in Porédaka, † 1977) was a Guinean politician and diplomat. He was involved in the founding of the Organisation of African Unity and its first Secretary-General 1964-1972. , After five years in office as Minister of Justice of Guinea, he was interned in a prison for political prisoners Camp Boiro, where he died of starvation.

Life

Diallo Telli was born in 1925 in Porédaka. After high school, he graduated in Dakar, he attended the prestigious École nationale de la France d' Outre- Mer in Paris, whose aim was to train leaders for the colonial service. After his return from Paris in 1955 he became bureau chief adviser to the High Commissioner for French West Africa. This corresponded to the highest position, each a / e Africans / gained in the French colonial period.

In the wake of independence in Guinea in 1958 Telli was Permanent Representative of the country at the United Nations.
