Diana Gabaldon

Diana Gabaldon ( born January 11, 1952 in Williams, Arizona ) is an American author of Mexican and English descent. She became known for the series of " Outlander " novels.

Life and work

Diana Gabaldon grew up in Flagstaff, Arizona. After attending high school, she studied deep-sea biology, ecology and zoology. She worked at Northern Arizona University as honorary professor and computer specialist and wrote storylines for Walt Disney comics. From 1980, she wrote in various fields: Manuals for computers, software reviews and articles. In 1991 she published with " Outlander " ( German title: " Outlander" ) her first book, which was a worldwide success the same.

Gabaldon has long wanted to write a novel years ago and Outlander had started training only to find out whether they can ever write novels.

When she stopped fragments of this novel in a literary forum Compuserve, she got such positive feedback that she was picking up an agent and published her first book with great success.

Today Diana Gabaldon lives with her husband and their three children in Scottsdale, Arizona.
