Dibenzazepine

Dibenzazepines, formerly Dibenzoazepine, more 5H- dibenzo [b, f] azepine, are representatives of a group of chemical compounds, in which two benzene rings at a central nitrogen-containing seven-membered ring, the 1H - azepine, fused. The compounds are partially used as drugs ( tricyclic antidepressants and anticonvulsants ).

Examples of drugs used as representatives carbamazepine, the dihydrogenated dibenzazepine ( Dihydrobenzazepin ) imipramine. Structurally similar - but with a different arrangement of the heteroatoms and thus no derivative of 5H- dibenzo [b, f] azepine - is the dibenzoxazepine amoxapine.
