Dibrova (urban-type settlement)

Dibrova (Ukrainian Діброва; Russian Диброва ) is an urban-type settlement in Rajon Olevsk in Ukraine's Zhytomyr Oblast.

The Rajonshauptstadt Olevsk located 24 km to the west, Zhytomyr 111 km south-east of the settlement, the place together with Druzhba, which is located about 4 kilometers north of the village community Druzhba.

The village was founded in the 19th century in the course of construction of the railroad ( railway Sarny - Kiev) and was first called Drowjanyj Mail ( Дров'яний Пост ), with the development of the quartz deposits in the vicinity of the place in 1961 in Dibrova ( German as " oak forest " ) renamed and got the status of an urban-type settlement awarded. Today in the nearby quarries and other rocks are broken down, in the resort there is a branch of the company Olewskyj Schtschebnewyj zavod ( Олевский щебневый завод - " Olewsker Schotterwerke ").
