Dichtergarten (Munich)

The poet garden, garden or even financial financial garden, is a two -acre garden in the city center of Munich between Von-der- Tann -Straße, courtyard garden and the Prinz- Carl- Palais. The hilly landscape garden was built on the site of a bastion of the Thirty Years' War. The garden is predominantly forested.

The terrain has been left to Theatinerkloster at its inception as a kitchen garden. Later it was used as a garden for the Prince -Carl -Palais, and later as the garden of the Treasury, the Bavarian Prime Minister and from the Second World War as a parking lot and gas station. Since 1984, the Poets' Garden is in its current form. Poets and writers associated with the city of Munich, to be appreciated here. So far, there are statues of Fyodor Ivanovich Tjuttschew, by Heinrich Heine and since July 2007, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the partnership between Shandong (China) with the State of Bavaria, a statue of a Chinese poet Confucius. In October 2010, a statue of the Polish composer Frederic Chopin was officially unveiled.

The bronze statue is the work of sculptor Jozek Nowak and was donated by the Polish Republic. The monument commemorates the short visit in 1831 by the composer in Munich.

For the maintenance of the Bavarian Administration of State-owned Palaces, Gardens and Lakes is responsible.
