Dick Stockton (tennis)

Richard LaClede "Dick" Stockton ( born February 18, 1951 in New York City ) is a retired American professional tennis player.

Life

Stockton graduated in 1972 sociology studies at Trinity University in San Antonio from. He then focused on his tennis career and won 1971-1986 a total of eight singles titles and 16 doubles. He was also twice in basic Slam tournaments in Mixed successful: in 1975 at the U.S. Open on the side of Rosemary Casals, and at the 1984 French Open with Anne Smith. From 1973 to 1979, he played ten matches in the Davis Cup and was five of them decide for themselves. In 1979 he won the American Davis Cup team for the title.

Stockton now works as a tennis coach. Together with his wife Liz, he runs a tennis center in West Palm Beach, Florida.
