Dick Taylor

Richard " Dick" Taylor ( born January 28, 1943 in Dartford, Kent, England ) is a British musician and was a member of the original line of the Rolling Stones. He is co-founder of the rock band The Pretty Things, which he still belongs today.

Beginning of the 1960s he studied art at Sidcup Art College in London and formed the band Little Boy Blue And The Blue Boys in Dartford along with Mick Jagger and his former fellow student Keith Richards. After a short time Ian Stewart, Tony Chapman and Brian Jones came to it, and the band's name was changed in 1962 in The Rolling Stones. In August 1962, Taylor left the band to continue his studies, but took over in 1963, the lead guitar in the band, The Pretty Things, which he jointly founded with singer Phil May. 1968 Taylor was instrumental in the creation of their concept album SF Sorrow. After the commercial failure of this LP he left temporarily the Pretty Things. He produced the debut album of Hawkwind and can also be heard as a guitarist it. In the 1970s he was temporarily in the punk band Mekons and had to temporarily hire as a clothes salesman, until he returned in 1980 to the Pretty Things.
