History
Origin of the name
The oldest spelling is found in a charter of the monastery of Corvey from the 13th century. There a Thetmarus de Diekla is called from 1238 to 1250. From this noble family of the name Dickel is derived. The name Dickel is so named in the 13th century. At this time the monastery Corvey had here also goods.
