Dickie Boon

Richard R. " Dickie" Boon ( born January 10, 1878 in Belleville, Ontario, † May 3, 1961 in Outremont, Quebec ) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player who at the beginning of the 20th century for the Montreal AAA from the CAHL and the Montreal Wanderers played from the WAN.

Career

During his time with the Montreal AAA striker won the only two Stanley Cups of AAA. The team was also the last amateur club to have won the Cup.

After his time with the AAA was Boon co-founded the Montreal Wanderers, the first professional hockey franchise in the city. The Wanderers, he served as Manager in 1907, 1908 and 1910 to three wins in the Stanley Cup.

After his hockey time Dickie Boon was co-founder of Boon Strachan Coal and devoted himself to the sport curling and golf. In 1952, he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
