Dicrotophos is a chemical compound from the group of carboxylic acid amides and phosphoric acid esters is used as an insecticide.
Properties
Dicrotophos in technical form is a yellow- brown liquid with mild odor ester type that contains more than 85 % dicrotophos. Above a temperature of 25 ° C - 30 ° C, it begins to decompose.
Use
The 1956 introduced dicrotophos as its metabolite monocrotophos used as an insecticide. Be (E)- isomer has a greater effect than the (Z)- isomer as a cholinesterase inhibitor, which is why the majority of the industrial dicrotophos prepared from the (E)- isomer exists. Dicrotophos has not been added to the list of approved facilities in Europe pesticide active ingredients. Thus, there is no authorization of a plant protection product dicrotophoshaltigen in Germany and Austria, and in Switzerland, no such product is approved.
Safety
Dicrotophos is highly toxic, especially to bees and birds.
