Didier Astruc

Didier Astruc ( born June 9, 1946 in Versailles, France ) is a French chemist and professor of Catalysis and Nanoscience at the University of Bordeaux.

Life and work

Astruc studied chemistry at the University of Rennes, where he received his PhD in the group of Prof. Dabard. There was a post-doctoral stay at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Richard R. Schrock. He then took up an appointment at the University of Bordeaux, where he conducts research with a focus on catalysis and nanotechnology and teaches. Astruc was known among other things for his work on Electron - reservoir complexes.

1988 Astruc was awarded the Gay - Lussac- Humboldt Prize.
