Didier Queloz ( born February 23, 1966) is a Swiss astronomer and assistant in the research group of Michel Mayor at the Department of Astronomy at the University of Geneva.

He was involved in the discovery of the first extrasolar planet in orbit around a Sun-like star - 51 Pegasi b.

Didier Queloz completed a physics degree at the University of Geneva in 1990 with a master and reached in 1995 the Ph.D. degree The Community discovery of extrasolar planets is based on measurements of the radial velocity on the Doppler effect, while a planet was discovered with an orbital speed of 4.2 days.

The discovery was recognized with the award of various prizes.

2013 counted Thomson Reuters Queloz due to the number of its citations to favorites to a Nobel Prize (Thomson Reuters Citation Laureates ).
