The fourth dimension is the third regular studio album by the hip- hop group The Fantastic Four. It was released by Sony Music Entertainment on November 8, 1993. Was published in 2009 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the band stage a digitally reworked version of the album, which also includes bonus tracks.
Style
With "The 4th Dimension " as the psychedelic cover image of the album suggests, The Fantastic Four completed a change of style, to which also the text of the opening piece New Country refers. The rest of the lyrics deal primarily the human self-image, which has been largely maintained on subsequent albums.
The title " day at sea " is about a LSD trip, as Thomas D announced in an interview in 2010.
For the first time translated the Fantastic Four a electronic sound effects as an essential component of their music, Schizophrenia is also rapped with electronically distorted voice. The instrumental title Further away, even further away, Quite far and away form the framework of the album.
Six Songs from "The 4th Dimension" were re-recorded in 1994 together with the music group Megalomaniax for the joint project " MEGA FOUR".
Achievements
The album arrived in Germany ( 14th), Austria (No. 23) and Switzerland ( number 27 ) in the charts. The single for the song day by the sea, re-recorded in 2000 as part of the MTV Unplugged series, made it in the new version at number 67 in the German single charts.
