Die Doofen

The Dork were a nonsense music group consisting of the two comedians Wigald Boning and Olli Dittrich.

Origins

Boning and Dittrich had already made long music, as they in Hamburg in 1992 met: Boning had tried it after high school already at two bands as a punk singer, Dittrich had repeatedly released solo records, had been successful as a composer and had also seven years at a record company worked.

They met had evolved together in Hamburg Nonsense Comedy Club and then her comedic talent with different formats. So they founded, among others, " Wigald Boning & the Dork ", the nonsense titles like Fiep, Fiep, Fiep (that I love you ) played and also released as a single.

Work

On July 6, 1993, Boning and Dittrich members of the comedian troupe of RTL Saturday night and also took over some of the already developed comedy numbers of the show like Two chairs - an opinion. In 1995 they were also " The Dork " revive as a duo again, and entered into the program on with Blödel texts like I'll build you a house from Brawn, The Great - Uncle crushing blues and tuff, tuff, tuff ( we go to the brothel ). Her songs they announced always with ... from the cycle "Songs that do not need the world," and also called as their first album, released in 1995 as a long-playing record. The record reached # 1 on the German album charts and sold over a million times. Their first single fug! ( Take me now, even if I stink ) was also a number - one hit.

For their success they were awarded the Echo, the Golden Tuning Fork and a Bambi.

Since Boning and Dittrich produced new songs for the show on a regular basis, they had already in 1996 enough material for a second LP titled tunes for melons, however, was unable to repeat the success of the previous album. The sales of the single Princess de Bahia Tropical not sufficient for a chart position. Soon after Boning and Dittrich joined RTL Saturday night to no more than Son Of Dork.

End

In 1998, RTL Saturday night was finished, bonings and Dittrich's musical paths diverged in the last show they performed for the last time as Son Of Dork in a parody of the hit Time to Say Goodbye on, disguised as Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli. Separately, both have successfully continued their careers since then; in addition to his television programs Dittrich also plays drums in the band Texas Lightning.

Boning received ( for his mission WIB swing) as well as his former RTL Saturday night mate Tommy Krappweis ( for Bernd the bread) 2004 Adolf Grimme Prize. As part of the ceremony Dittrich and Boning occurred for the first time since 1998 to collectively as Son Of Dork on. However, it was a unique recapitulation; a renewed revival of Doofen you would not completely rule though, for the foreseeable future is thus not to be expected.
