Die Flippers

The Flippers were a German music band in the area of the Schlager.

History

In 1964, Manfred Durban, Claus Backhaus, Franz Halmich, Manfred Mössner, Manfred Hehl and Hans Springer founded from Knittlingen ( near Pforzheim ) in Baden- Württemberg, the Dancing band a year later renamed to Dancing Show Band. 1965 Hans Springer was replaced by Bernd Hengst. The group played at the weekend to dance, so that she could make a name in the region soon. 1966 Manfred Mössner was replaced by Roland Bausert. 1967 Olaf Malolepski advocated Manfred Hehl in the group.

In the following years, the group took numerous titles and LPs, and gave concerts in Germany and neighboring countries and became the most successful pop band of the 1970s. In 1973, Jean Frankfurter - with some interruptions - Producer of Flippers. 1974 Claus Backhaus left the group. In the late 1970s sank the record sales, but the band was still concerts in southern Germany. On December 31, 1979 Roland Bausert left the group. He was followed by Albin Bucher in 1980 as the new singer and the change to the new production team and Mick Hannes Walter Gerke. But the new cast did not bring the great success of the 1970s. What remained was still the trio, which is commonly known as The Flippers today: Bernd Hengst, Olaf Malolepski and Manfred Durban.

In 1985, in collaboration with the new team of producers Karl- Heinz Rupp Rich and Uwe Busse Album On red roses falling tears. This album has initiated the comeback of the group the following year and provided the first gold record for the flipper. 1986 become the red sun of Barbados to the smash hit. With this title the Flippers won the 1st place in the ZDF hit parade and came with the song on in other television shows. It was followed by numerous hits and appearances on radio and television. In subsequent years, the three musicians have received several gold records and were also awarded numerous prizes.

1988 went to Flippers for the first time on tour. From the 1990s was followed by annual tours. They gave your biggest concert of 2004 in the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund before 17,000 spectators. From 1987 to 2007, they were 13 times in the Top 10 of the German music charts.

1994 turned the ZDF in Mallorca the first Flippers Special. More Specials originated in Venice ( 1996), on the Côte d' Azur ( with Marlene Charell (1998)), in Ticino ( with Sandra Studer ( 1999) ), in 2000 in Greece, 2001 in Portugal, 2002 at Lake Garda, in 2003 at the Costa del Sol and 2005 in Istria.

The anniversary tour 40 years Flippers lasted from November 2008 to March 2009. On October 17, 2009, she announced that her next tour ( November 2010-March 2011 ) will its last, so their farewell tour to be.
