Die Südostschweiz

The Southeastern Switzerland is a Swiss daily newspaper in the Southeast Media Group in Chur Switzerland.

Coat with regional editions

The southeast Switzerland appears in different part met:

  • Since 2006 regional edition Gaster and lake (up to 2000 ' Gaster countries / Seepresse " )

  • Since 1997 regional edition of Grisons (until 1997 " Grison newspaper ").

The total circulation rose from 111,000 (1997) to 145,000 copies ( 2004). By the end of 2013 ended four regional newspapers, their partnership with the South Eastern Switzerland and since then cooperate with the new Lucerne newspaper or the St. Galler Tageblatt ( both belong to the NZZ Media Group), which shrinks the run to 82,000 copies (2014).

The Southeastern Switzerland is as a liberal newspaper on the line of the political center.

History

The history of Southeast Switzerland, however, begins long before 1997 with the creation of its predecessor newspapers.

Grisons newspaper

The Graubünden newspaper was established in 1975 from the integration of the 107-year liberal outdoor Rätiers in the opposition Democratic New Grisons newspaper (founded in 1892).

Glarus News

In 1884, the later democratic National Council and David Legler this newspaper as an organ of the opposition. Appearing since 1875 newspaper " The Free Glarus " bought the Glarus news and put the two names together in 1890 under the latter. In the first three decades of the 20th century, it became the largest newspaper in the canton. After the Second World War, she turned to a liberal course.

Expansion and acquisition

The issuing Tschudi Printing and Publishing AG took over the late 20th century in the Gaster and March regional newspapers: 1992 the " Gaster countries" ( Uznach ); 1993 "March -Anzeiger " ( laughter). From 1993, both published together under the name " Linth Press Gazette ". 1997 Gasser AG Chur took over the Tschudi Printing and Publishing AG and the Glarus messages were for regional edition of the Southeast Glarus Switzerland.

Gaster countries / Seepresse

" The Gaster countries" was founded in 1885 for the first time in Uznach, however, had existed only until 1894. Also in 1885 appeared as a forerunner of today Gaster lander a sheet under the name " Gaster Anzeiger ", also in Uznach. In 1990, the journal tries under the name Seepresse the bull by the horns and expansion; in 2000, the newspaper is taken over by the South Eastern Switzerland and now appears as a regional edition under the title.
