The Wicherts next door is the name of a television series that was created between 1986 and 1991 and was first broadcast on ZDF Eve program. The focus of the stories, the everyday life of a Berlin family stands with all its sorrows and joys. In addition to a large contingent of German folk actors and former screen sizes, the series was particularly impressed by the realistic depiction of middle-class circumstances. A total of 49 episodes and a pilot movie were filmed. The latter is now regarded as two episodes aired. Eberhard and Hannelore Wichert live with their two sons, Andy and Rüdiger in a large detached house (basement, ground floor, 1st floor, DG) on the outskirts of Berlin ( Duke Street 36). Eberhard is a master carpenter in the furniture Union, a large furniture manufacturer based in Gütersloh ( fictitious company ). Hannelore operates in his own basement a small Getränkehandlung and is regularly supplied by the nagging but good-natured " drayman " Kuttlick with supplies. Son Andi stands before graduation and has a great passion for the culinary arts, which he would like to make it his profession. Rüdiger studied mechanical engineering and falls in love with Uschi ( Ulrike ) of Strelenau, a girl from a noble home that makes him soon after the wedding to the father of two.
Ins upstairs pulls Grandma Kate, the somewhat fussy and marottenhafte mother Eberhard, a. She has a penchant for antiques and Biedermeier and attaches great importance to etiquette.
