Diego Barreto

Diego Daniel Barreto Cáceres (born 16 July 1981 in Lambaré ) is a Paraguayan football player. He is the brother of Edgar Barreto.

Career

The 1.82 m wide goalkeeper started his professional career in 2001 at Cerro Porteño in Paraguay and moved in 2005 to UD Almería in Spain. About clubs in Argentina, Switzerland and Paraguay, he returned recently in 2009 returned to his hometown club Cerro Porteño.

Barreto was part of the Paraguayan Olympic team in 2004 in Athens won the silver medal. In the same year he played on July 8 against Costa Rica his first senior international. In 2010, he was the third goalkeeper in the Paraguayan squad of the football World Cup in South Africa.
