Diego Domínguez

Diego Domínguez ( born April 25, 1966 in Córdoba, Argentina ) is a former rugby union player at the position of the connector, who played for both Argentina and Italy.

1986 Domínguez was first appointed to the squad of Argentina, but he came because of the overpowering Hugo Portas hard to use opportunities. Only in 1989 was followed by the first game for the " Pumas " against Chile. He moved in 1990 to Italy to Milan Rugby Club. Due to the origin of his grandmother it was him soon possible on playing for Italy. In March 1991 he made his debut for the " Azzurri " against France. He participated in three World Cups, 1991, 1995 and 1999, in part.

In 1997 Domínguez to Stade Français in the first French League Top 14 He arrived with the team in 1998, 2000, 2003 and 2004 and was the champion in 2000 and the finals of the Heineken Cup. In this final game he scored 30 points, but not enough to leave the field against the Leicester Tigers as the winner. In the same year he announced his resignation, but declined due to the pressure of the Italian Association of this back and still played until 2003 for the national team. His last international game he played on 22 February of the year against Ireland.

With 1010 points in 76 international matches, he is the player with the third most points of all time. He will be surpassed only by Jonny Wilkinson and Neil Jenkins. His 983 points for Italy are national record.
