Esteban Diego Simonet ( born December 26, 1989 in Buenos Aires, Argentina) is an Argentine handball player.

Life

Diego Simonet is the son of Luis and Alicia Simonet forms. He began his handball career with Sociedad Alemana de Villa Ballester. In 2008 he moved to Sao Caetano in Brazil. From 2009 to 2011, he was the Spanish first division handball club CB Torrevieja under contract. Simonet lives in France and played from 2011 together with his brother Sebastian Simonet at U.S. Ivry HB. On 1 July 2013, he moved within the French league to Montpellier AHB.

Since 2010 Simonet is active in Argentina's national handball team. He also played at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London for Argentina. In 2012, he won the Pan American Championship with Argentina. At the World Championships in 2013, he played with his brothers Sebastian and Pablo.
