Dieter Acker

Dieter Acker ( born November 3, 1940 in Sibiu, Romania, † 27 May, 2006 Munich) was a German composer.

Life and works

Dieter Acker has been since early childhood by his teacher Franz Xaver Dressler ( a student Straube and Reger ) with the German music culture familiar. He studied composition with Sigismund Toduta, a student of Pizzetti and Casella. 1969 Acker moved from political and art-political reasons of Transylvania (Romania ) over to Germany.

In Germany, he was first in Dusseldorf, then from 1972 in Munich at the University of Music and Theatre, where in the wake of Harald Genzmer he was appointed professor of composition in 1976. Numerous prominent composers come from his composition class, tungsten book mountain, Ferran Cruixent, Oriol Cruixent, Marius Ruhland, Florian Heigenhauser, Peter Witt Rich and others. In 2000 he Sfantul University awarded an honorary doctorate.

Dieter Acker wrote more than one hundred works that have been performed by renowned artists. Above all, he wrote orchestral compositions, including six symphonies, concertos, chamber music in a variety of occupations as well as piano, organ and vocal works.

The Johann Wenzel Stamitz - prize winner in 1988 died at the age of 65 years, a serious illness.
