Dieter Prestin

Dieter Prestin ( born August 23, 1956 in Hürth ) is a former German football player.

Dieter Prestin received his first professional contract at the 1 FC Cologne in 1975. During the first two years it was used only sporadically. His breakthrough he experienced in the championship season 1977/1978 when he hit to 1:0 and 3:1 contributed in an away game against the biggest rivals Borussia Monchengladbach 5-2 victory for Cologne on the 10th game day. At the end of the season the 1st FC Cologne was just ahead of Gladbach German masters. In the following years he developed into a regular player in Cologne's back line and brought it to the end of his career in 1989 at a total of 246 Bundesliga appearances, which he completed exclusively for the 1st FC Cologne. In addition to the German championship in 1978, he won three times the DFB Cup: 1977, 1978 and 1983, but was only in the final against local rivals SC Fortuna Köln in 1983 on the place.
