Dieter Schütte

Dieter Schütte ( born June 4, 1923 in Cologne, † February 8, 2013 in Cologne) was a German publisher.

Life

Dieter Schütte was born into a respected family in Cologne, both father and grandfather were directors-general of the Eau de Cologne factory 4711th Schuette graduated from high school at the high school cross street. Then he was called up for military service and was at the end of World War II lieutenant in the Navy.

He graduated in Geneva and Southern France training as a perfumer and studied chemistry and business administration. As a result, he began an apprenticeship at Dragoco in wood Minden, but which was terminated prematurely, which prevented its entry in 4711. He then became a partner in a metal products company.

Schütte married in 1950 Brigitte Neven DuMont from the Cologne publisher DuMont's family. The marriage produced three children. The first born son Arthur died as a young man in a car accident. 1957 their son Christian DuMont Schütte was born. In his second marriage, which also three children were born, Dieter Schütte was married to Frederick Ute.

In 1960 he was a general partner of the publishing house M. DuMont. Since the mid-60s Schütte worked on the side of Alfred Neven DuMont and was from October 1990 to shareholders of the LLC and limited partner of the KG and Vice Chairman. After his retirement in 2003 Schütte joined the Supervisory Board as an honorary member. Schütte was a member of the Economic Council of the CDU.

He strove for the culture and development of his hometown in 1992 and received the Federal Cross of Merit 1st class.
