Dietmar Schauerhammer

Dietmar Schauer Hammer ( born August 12, 1955 in Neustadt an der Orla ) is a former German track and field athlete and bobsledder. He was 1984 double Olympic champion in the two-man and four-man bobsleigh.

Life

He began his career in athletics. 1976, 1977, 1979 and 1980 was Dietmar Schauer hammer GDR Champion in the pentathlon in the hall. In 1977 he was East German Vice Champion in the decathlon and tenth in the all-around European Cup. At the European Championships in 1978, he came in 14th place. In 1979, he won with the East German team the all-around European Cup (single 8 ). His personal best of 8054 points set of starting for the SC Motor Jena showers Hammer 1980. However, for the Olympic Games in Moscow, he could not qualify.

Dietmar Schauer Hammer graduated after an apprenticeship as a precision mechanic sports studies with the completion of a qualified sports teacher. After the reunification, he was offered the post of national coach Bob on, but he refused and found employment in the sports equipment industry.

Awards

Cloudy Hammer in 1984 he received the Patriotic Order of Merit in gold. 1986 and 1988 he was awarded the Order of Star of International Friendship.
