Dietrich Dörner

Dietrich Dörner ( born September 28, 1938 in Berlin ) is a German psychologist and emeritus professor at the Otto- Friedrich University of Bamberg.

Dörner dealt inter alia in the field of artificial intelligence with the modeling and simulation of emotion, intent and action organization. Be " EMO project " in which an emotional robot was programmed and simulated became known; the follow-up project called " PSI ". Dörner also worked with a simulation of populations ( " mice " ), in which all individuals were designed according to his theory.

Dörner developed psychological theories of human action and feeling, and tested them by the implementation in simulation software and comparing the results with the actions of real people. He developed the " Tanaland " experiment, with the aid of human influence can be studied in complex systems. It concerned a fictitious African region whose influence were altered by development aid.
