Dietrich Schaeffer

Career

Political homeland was the SPD's local chapter in the Berlin district of Zehlendorf. There he was department chairman, district, and state delegate and 1963-1967 Group Secretary in the Borough Assembly Zehlendorf. In 1975 he was elected to the House of Representatives, where he served until 1979.

In addition, he was unionized in the mid- 1960s. He was four years and four years deputy chairman of the Berlin State Association of Trade Union for Education and Science ( GEW). During this time he represented the interests of sustainable teachers of the city. He belonged to the state board of the DGB district of Berlin, and six years the collective bargaining committee of the DGB executive board. From 1979 to 1994 he was Chairman of the VBE Berlin.
