Dietrich Wersich

Dietrich Wersich (* April 27, 1964 in Hamburg) is a German politician ( CDU). Since March 7, 2011, he is as CDU parliamentary group leader of the opposition in the Hamburg Parliament. Previously, he was from 2008 to March 7, 2011 Senator for Health and Social Affairs in Hamburg. From November 2010 to March 2011 he was additionally Deputy Mayor and President of the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training.

Education and work

After graduation in 1984 at the altsprachlich humanist Johanneum in Hamburg, he completed his military service.

From 1986 to 1992 Wersich studied medicine at the University of Hamburg. He then worked until 1999 in the hospital AK ox inches, Bethanien Hospital in the areas of internal medicine, geriatrics and geriatric psychiatry. This was followed from 2000 to 2002 a medical activity in general medical practice and surgery practice.

In addition to his profession as a doctor, Wersich engaged in the cultural sector. In 1995 he founded the theater STAITSCH BetriebsgmbH for the Altona Theatre, for which he worked until 2004 as a managing partner. 2002 saw the establishment of the theater STAITSCH Service Gmbh of which he was also. In 2003 he took over the operation of gambling games and the Hamburg Chamber of Harburg theater.

Policy

Since 1980 he has held various offices in the CDU, including 1993-2008 local chairman of the local branch Eppendorf High air east. He was also a deputy of the Environment Agency, District Deputy and is a member of the CDU Land Executive Committee since 2000. From 1997 to 2004 and again from 2011 he was a member of the Hamburg Parliament, where, among other health policy spokesman and secretary of the Health Committee, also a member of the Social Committee and the Committee on Budgets and 2001-2004 Member of the Scientific Committee.

From 1 April 2004 as part Wersich State Council on the Senate Ole von Beust. By 30 April 2006, he was State Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Health ( health ). From 1 May 2006, he was State Secretary of the newly formed Ministry for Social and Family Affairs, Health and Consumer Protection. In April 2008, he was appointed in black and green senate senator of Health and Welfare. The election and swearing-in ceremony took place on 7 May 2008. Following the collapse of the black -green coalition on 28 November 2010, the GAL senators were dismissed. Their functions were distributed on 30 November 2010, the remaining members of the Senate; Wersich took it to the reconstitution of citizenship as a result of the elections of February 2011 7 March 2011 the official line of authority for school and vocational training as well as the office of second mayor. After the election of February 2011, he held the office of Chairman of the CDU parliamentary group and is also its rich cultural affairs spokesman.

Personal

One of his four brothers is the former deputy citizenship Ekkehart Wersich. Dietrich Wersich lives with his partner.
