Dietrichingen

Dietrichingen is a municipality in the southwest, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Zweibrücken -Land.

Geography

Dietrichingen is close to the French border in Hornbachtal.

To Dietrichingen includes the hamlets and residential places Birkwieserhof, Kirschbacherhof, cherry Mühle, Monastery Waldhof, Monbijou, Riedel mountain valley, sand Waldhof, brick hut and high Waldhof.

History

Dietrichingen and cherry creek were first mentioned in 1295 as Diderichingen and Kuinrisbach documented. Monbijou was formerly Leichhardt Elbingen and 1258 was mentioned as Leichelvinga. The territorial affiliation of the settlements has always followed Palatinate -Zweibrücken. In cherry creek, the only one farm was already in 1591, the ducal porcelain manufactory of Palatinate -Zweibrücken was operated from 1784 to 1786, which was, however, already operated at this time by a private tenant.

The local council in Dietrichingen consists of eight council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Coat of arms

The blazon of the arms is: "Through a silver Schäglinksbalken, in three green orchids, shared by black and green, above a golden castle ruins, down a golden horseshoe ."

It was awarded in 1982 by the District Government of Rheinhessen-Pfalz.

Tourism and Leisure

Good Monbijou is still worth seeing, although the Orangerie is just a ruin. Nearby is a valuable orchid area is under the supervision of Pollichia. The buildings of the Kirschbacherhofs from the 16th century are still impressive.

A few hundred meters outside the village was built on a former recreational area of the U.S. military, the Euro - Camp Dietrichingen, a kind of hostel, furnished. The camp is under the supervision of the DRC, and mainly used by school classes and youth groups.
