Digha-Nikaya

The Dīgha Nikāya ( "Collection of long discourses ", abbreviated DN) is the first of five Nikāyas ( "Collections" ), from which the Suttapitaka there.

The longer suttas contain a total of 34 speeches, including for example the Mahasatipatthana Sutta, which forms the basis for meditation Mindfulness and the Mahaparinibbana Sutta, in the last months of the Buddha are described prior to his death and his cremation.

The 34 words of the Dīgha Nikāya are divided into three groups:
