Digikam

DigiKam is a free photo management program for Linux, Windows and Mac OS X. With the help of software, images can archive it on an easy way to sort, manipulate, and publish it.

In addition to built Digikam - specific image plugins, the program can access the Kipi interface, with which images can be treated individually or in batch mode. A main feature is the graphical interface to gPhoto2, with the digiKam over 1000 digital camera models can address. Also, scanners can be used via SANE.

The integrated, but also individually usable image viewer and editor show photo represents, among others, the following image editing features are available:

The software supports all major raster graphic formats such as JFIF, JPEG 2000, TIFF, PNG, PGF and DCRaw RAW data and the digital Negative Format DNG. By default, digiKam creates a SQLite database but can also deal with both local and network connected by MySQL databases since version 1.3.0. Utilities for the creation of photo calendars, HTML galleries and an extensive batch processing for file formats, image size, frame, white balance, etc. round out the package. OpenStreetMap is since version 1.0 also supported.

Show Photo

In the program package of the digiKam image display and editing program ShowFoto is also included. Show photo can as well digiKam use the plugin structure Kipi.
