The Digya National Park with an area of 3124 km ² the biggest national park in Ghana. It lies on a peninsula that protrudes from the west in the Volta Lake. Its territory is partly located in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana, and partly in the Ashanti Region. The annual precipitation is 1000 to 1200 mm.

The vegetation consists of wooded savannah and gallery forests along the rivers. In the savannas there is usually only once a year -intensity rainfall, in the more wooded parts of the rainfall is greater and also on two rainy seasons.

In Digya National Park are still encountered poachers who are decimating the wild animal population. This park is known for its populations of elephants and leopards, but also the abundance of fish lying on this Volta Lake National Park is great. Apart from some rare monkeys and other species of monkeys here the presence of various antelope species.
