Dilbeek is a Belgian municipality located in the province of Flemish Brabant with 40 388 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2012). It has an area of 41.18 km ² and a population density of 981 inhabitants per km ². Mayor is Stefaan Platteau.
The community ( large-scale) consists Dilbeek since a merger in 1977 from the central place Dilbeek itself, and the municipal districts Itterbeek, Schepdaal, Sint -Martens- Bodegem, Sint- Ulriks Chapel and Groot- Bijgaarden.
Dilbeek 1075 was documented as Dedelbeccha for the first time.
Dibeek maintains partnerships with the Austrian Obervellach, the South African Franschhoek and the U.S. Dalton (Georgia ).
