Dileep Rao

Dileep Rao (born 29 July 1973 in Los Angeles, California) is an American actor.

Dileep Rao was born in Los Angeles, California, the son of Indian parents. His father was a native of the Indian state of Maharashtra engineer, his mother a physicist. The family moved around often work-related, which Rao had lived at the age of 8 years in more than 20 countries, including Saudi Arabia.

Rao was always fascinated by the natural sciences and later began to study medicine at the University of California, San Diego. He also took an acting course which sparked his interest in theater. If participating in the La Jolla Playhouse Summer Conservatory, he worked with the Tony Award - winner Anna D. Shapiro. It was followed by engagements in numerous theaters, taking roles in plays by Charles Busch Charles L. Mee took over or under others.

After guest appearances in the television series Standoff and Brothers & Sisters followed in 2009, his first major role as diviner Rham Jas in Sam Raimi's horror film Drag Me to Hell. A larger audience he was his supporting roles in James Cameron's Avatar - known Film Title and Christopher Nolan's Inception.
