Dillon Battistini

Dillon Battistini ( born December 3, 1977 in Ewell, Surrey ) is a British racing driver.

Career

Like most racers began Battistini his career in karting. In 2000, he debuted in Formula racing and participated in four races of the British Formula Renault. After a pause, he was runner up in the 2003 Caterham Superlight Championship. 2006 Battistini returned to Formula racing and competed in the Asian Formula 3 Championship. With five podium finishes, he completed his first season starting in fourth place overall. 2007 Battistini remained in the Asian Formula 3 Championship with five victories and was champion before Henri Karjalainen.

In winter 2007/2008 Battistini completed testing for the Champ Car team Minardi Team USA. After the unification of Champ Car and the IndyCar Series however, there were no commitment. However, Battistini remained in North America and moved to Panther Racing in the Indy Lights. He won his debut race in Homestead, what his first oval race was ever the same time. The last race of the season, he completed the team Moore Racing. Battistini won a total of four races in the season and was the pilot with the most victories. However, it was not enough to win the title and he finished sixth in the championship. 2009 Battistini joined Genoa Racing starting at only one race in the Indy Lights. He retired from the race, finishing in 29th place overall. 2010 did not take Battistini again participate in the full season. He started for the team PBIR Bryan Herta Autosport and each one Indy Lights race and came in two races in ninth place finish. In the drivers' standings, he eventually finished in 22nd place.

After Battistini 2011 was initially without the cockpit, he was awarded for the second to last race of the season an IndyCar cockpit with Conquest Racing. He left in the race from the 28th.

Like his mother owns Dillon Battistini British citizenship. His father is Italian.
