Dima Bilan

Dima Bilan (Russian Дима Билан ), Viktor Nikolaevich Belan actually (Russian Виктор Николаевич Белан; born December 24, 1981 in Ust- Dscheguta, Republic of Karachay -Cherkessia ) is a Russian pop singer.

Life

As Dima Bilan was one year old, he and his family of four with his grandmother in Naberezhnye Chelny in Tatarstan, where he lived until the age of six. Then he moved with his family to Kabardino -Balkaria in the city Maisky, where he graduated the school. Even as a child Dima Bilan was soloist of the school choir and took part in numerous competitions. His first music teacher was Ludmila Ibragimowna Saschina. After high school he studied at the renowned Gnessin Academy of Music in Moscow.

It was 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 Award at the MTV Russia Music Awards and the MTV Europe Music Awards as the best Russian artists. He has so far released four albums. Across Europe, he was known by his participation in the Euro Vision Song Contest 2006, where he landed with the song Never Let You Go in second place. In November 2006 he was awarded at the World Music Awards "Best - Selling Russian Artist Award ". This was followed by yet more awards.

After Bilan had won in March 2008 the Russian preliminary " Euro Vision 2008 ", he took part once again for Russia at Euro Vision Song Contest (ESC ) and won the first place with the Timbaland -produced ballad Believe. Was supported Bilan during his appearance among other things, the successful Russian figure skater Yevgeny Plyushchenko. 2011 he read the Russian scoring for the 56th Euro Vision Song Contest in Dusseldorf. In March 2012 he joined with Yulia Volkova with the song Back to Her Future at Russian preselection for the Euro Vision Song Contest 2012, but failed to qualify for the Eurovision Song Contest in Baku.

On June 6, 2008 Universal Music Domestic "Believe" released as a single in Germany.

Dima Bilan is a member of the nationalist- populist Liberal Democratic Party of Russia.
