Dimeji Bankole

Oladimeji " Dimeji " Sabor Bankole ( born November 14, 1969 in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria ) is a Nigerian politician.

Biography

Bankole, son of the chief of the tribe of Egba from the people of Yoruba and former Vice Chairman of the All Nigeria People's Party Alani Bankole studied, after school education and pedagogy at the University of Reading and acquired there a Bachelor of Arts in Education ( BAEduc. ). Later he completed a course in military engineering at Oxford University.

After graduation, he was initially between 1995 and 1998 Director of Freight Agencies Nigeria Limited and subsequently to 2003, Executive Director for the operative business of the West African Aluminium Products Limited ( WAAP ), whose CEO is his father. He was also from 2000 to 2003 director of ASAP Limited.

His political career began in 2003 as a candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP ), with the first election to the House of Representatives (Nigerian House of Representatives ), in which he represents the constituency of Abeokuta South even after his re-election on 21 April 2007. As a parliamentarian, he devoted himself in particular the areas of finance and defense.

Following the constitution of Parliament, he was elected Speaker of Parliament ( Speaker) 2007.

Bankole lost in the parliamentary elections on April 9, 2011 marks the Abeokuta South constituency in Ogun State.

6 May 2011 Bankole was arrested for corruption. He was suspected by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC ) of corruption. According to EFCC, he did not show up to hearings twice and showed efforts to settle abroad.
