Dimitri De Fauw

Dimitri De Fauw (born 13 July 1981 in Ghent, † November 6, 2009 in Heusden ) was a Belgian racing cyclist.

Dimitri De Fauw began his career in 2003 at the farm team of Quick · Step - Davitamon, later for the professional team. He won a total of eleven Belgian title in the Keirin, 1000 -meter time trial, scratch and Sprint; In 2003 he was successful in four national championships. Four times he won runs of the UIV Cup, a junior competition for junior riders six days, together with all Iljo Keisse. In 2004 they won the driver's overall standings of the cups. Since 2006, De Fauw stood by the Belgian Professional Continental team chocolate Jacques under contract. He was, among others, once on a fourth stage of the Tour Down Under 2006.

Since a racing accident during the Six Days of Ghent on 26 November 2006 - he collided with Isaac Gálvez Lopez, who died as a result of the accident - De Fauw suffered from depression.

6 November 2009 Dimitri De Fauw committed at the age of 28 years suicide.
